What is Sports Rehabilitation?
Sport Rehabilitators help people suffering from pain, injury or illness involving the musculoskeletal system.
Treatment will incorporate evidence based therapeutic interventions or exercise with the plan being monitored and modified where needed. This could include graded activity, exercise rehabilitation, manual therapy, massage or taping.
Sports Rehabilitators will use a complete approach, considering the whole needs of the individual to allow optimal recovery and placing the patient at the centre of their own care.
Sports Rehabilitation is a three year degree covering modules in anatomy, physiology, injury treatment, assessment and diagnosis, manual therapy, clinical therapies, functional rehabilitation, pitchside trauma, sports massage, biomechanics, sports nutrition and sports psychology.
